The Development Process
Stage one: Domain Name and Hosting

the_development_processIf you do not already have one, a domain name needs to be registered. A domain name is the web address where by users access your website. For example, www.mywebsite.com
Should you have a registered domain name but is not being hosted with any hosting company, your domain will have to transferred to your selected hosting company. We provide shared hosting for your website at R70 per month. This gives you unlimited webspace and includes montly backups on your website. Website hosting means your website is stored on a web server so that it may be viewed over the Internet.

Should you already have a registered domain name currently being hosted with a hosting company, you will then have to provide us with the necessary FTP and Cpanel details so that we may start the development of your website immediately.

To register a domain, you will need to provide the following details:
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Address
  • Email Address
  • Telephone Number / Mobile Number
  • ID Number


There is a propagation period from the time of registration before the domain name becomes accessible via the Internet. This period is between 8 hours and 24 hours.

There are a number of extensions available when registering your domain name, for example, .co.za , .net, .biz , org , .org.za to name a few. The price of your domain name registration depends on the extension you choose.
For example, the price of www.mywebsite.com may vary from www.mywebsite.co.za

The domain name you choose is very important and it is best to choose a domain name relating to your website content.

We will register your desired domain name for you. The domain extensions we offer are:

.co.za, .com, .net, .org.za

Costing:

  • Domain name registration :
    .co.za - R90 , Annual Renewal R90
    .com - R200 , Annual Renewal R200
    .net - R200 , Annual Renewal R200
    .org.za - R250 , (once off payment)
  • Hosting package :
    R70 per month (Includes monthly backups)


Stage two: Website Development

website constructionBefore the start of any development, we accept a 40% deposit fee.
Deposit amount calculation: Total Cost x 40% = Deposit amount
Once your domain name has completely propagated to the Internet and we have the necessary FTP and Cpanel details, we will  start the development of  your website in a development folder. For example www.mywebsite.com/dev

Once final payment for the project has been received by us, we will transfer your website to its live domain i.e. www.mywebsite.com.
The final payment will be payable once the development of your website has been completed.

The transfer will take approximately 15 minutes.

Once the deposit amount has been received by us, we will begin the installation of the Joomla CMS software.

We have a number of website template designs for you to choose from. Once a selection has been made, we will then proceed with customising the template to suit your company image.
(Customising includes inserting your company name and logo as well as inserting any fixed images to the template)

Once the Joomla CMS software and your selected customised template have been installed, we then configure your website with any components that provide extra functionality to your website, for example, a photo gallery, online form, video / audio streaming, download facility, online forum, interactive contacts page, website menus and menu items etc.
These component pages form part of the 5 pages we offer with our special.

We then load your remaining content with images, for example, About Us page, Company Services page, Company Profile page etc

The development of your website will then be complete and ready to be transferred to its live domain.
